AT the recent AGM of the Hereford County Drama Festival long term chairman David Newton stepped down in favour of David Pollard.

On taking office David Pollard thanked the outgoing chairman for his years of service and remarked that it was thanks to David Newton's stewardship that the festival had survived challenging times and was being handed on in a healthy condition.

The new chairman stated that his first task would be to ensure that a full programme of entrants would take part in the 2020 festival which would be held, once again, at The Market Theatre, Ledbury on March 19-21.

To this end he urged all amateur dramatic groups, youth theatre groups and schools in and around the county to consider staging a one act play at the festival.

Entry forms for 2020 and full details of the festival requirements are now available and can be obtained by request to the HCDF email address or from the new HCDF website

The closing date for entries to the competition is December 1, 2019.

The festival's social media presence has also been enhanced by a Facebook page: HerefordCountyDramaFestival where followers can keep up to date on all HCDF developments.
