A HEREFORD opticians held a Hawaiian-themed party last month and collected 250kg of food for the city's food bank.
Staff at Specsavers on Maylord Street dressed up in Hawaiian-print shirts and grass skirts, along with silk-flower leis.
The store was also decorated to create a full Hawaiian feel on Monday, July 22.
As part of the event, the store encouraged customers to donate items for Hereford Food Bank.
The store was able to collect items which included tinned meat, tinned vegetables, dried milk, sugar, tinned fruit, rice and coffee.
Store director, Nialle Smith, said: "Everyone made a huge effort to dress up, and we're so grateful to those who dropped off items of food."
"Sadly, more and more people are relying on food banks, so we wanted to do something to help those most in need in our community."
People still wishing to donate food can do so by visiting the store.

The Hereford Food Bank has been functioning since 2008 and are now a registered local charity.
They operate with small groups of dedicated volunteers, and have just moved to a new premises on Monkmoor Street.
