WYE Valley NHS Trust is one of the 20 organisations to get a cut of £850 million in new funding which will help fund extra beds.
The £23.6 million funding, which was officially unveiled by Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday, will go towards 72 new beds at Hereford County Hospital.
Wye Valley NHS Trust chief executive Glen Burley told the annual general meeting at Shirehall on July 11 that securing the investment to replace the 1940s hutted wards was a 'momentous occasion' for the hospital.
"Investing £23.6 million into Wye Valley NHS Trust will help the hospital provide more beds for patients and further improve the world-class care already offered by staff," Mr Johnson said.
"I'm proud to back our NHS and make sure frontline services get the support they need.
"Today's announcement is an important step towards safeguarding our health service for generations to come, and providing more people with better treatment every day."
