TRACTORS from all over Powys, South and West Wales as well as the Border Counties converged on Cefnllyn Farm, Nantmel on July 21, for the third running of the Tractor Enthusiasts of Nantmel (TEN) club's annual Nantmel Tractor Run in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The start venue was the home of Alfred and Liz Lewis, Liz being the chairperson of the local Rhayader branch of Cancer Research UK.

The tractor drivers were treated to tea, coffee and cake before the official send off by County Councillors David Evans and Kelvyn Curry.

John Bates led the procession away from the start field along the ridge overlooking the spectacular Llyngwyn Lake to tour the communities of Nantglas, Gaufron, before dropping down into Rhayader.

Then the tractors headed towards Saint Harmon, taking in the magnificent scenery of the Marteg valley, on to Pantydwr and Llidiartywaun before completing a circle by returning to Pantydwr and Saint Harmon.

Here the tractors took in a late lunch and the popular raffle was drawn before heading back to Nantmel and the start field.

The TEN Club would like to thank all participants, marshals and supporters for their help and kind donations and raffle prizes and looks to be on track once again to raise in the region of £1000 for Cancer Research UK.

Next year's event is already pencilled in for July, 19, 2019.
