A HEREFORD Air Cadet has recently completed a National Air Cadet Leadership Course.

Cadet Sergeant Tom Hemblade, a member of 124 (Hereford City) Squadron Air Training Corps, was selected to attend the prestigious Air Cadet Leadership Course at RAF Cranwell earlier this year, after a competitive selection process.

This intense week focuses upon the delivery of an effective and efficient leadership brief and then the ability of the leader to successfully encourage and motivate the team so they can complete the task. The week also aims to improves the teamwork and communication skills of the cadets.

After an exhausting week of hard work and dedication, Cdt Sgt Hemblade was among those on the course who had met the required standard to pass the course.

The graduation ceremony took place on the parade grounds of RAF College Cranwell, the Training and Education academy for initial officer training for officers in the Royal Air Force.

Flight Lieutenant Will Taylor RAFAC, the training officer from Hereford ATC said "We are very impressed with Sgt Hemblade and the determination he has shown to complete the course. The Air Cadet Leadership Course is one of the most difficult courses in the organisation and Tom should be very proud of this achievement".

Tom is now entitled to wear the Gold Leadership Badge on his uniform, signifying his ability to operate at the highest level of Air Cadet Leadership.
