THE Ross Quilters have made a donation of 125 heart-shaped cushions and 52 fabric drain bags to Breast Cancer Haven.
The soft cushions, each individually hand-crafted with beautiful fabrics will be given to visitors at Breast Cancer Haven's Hereford centre.
Breast Cancer Haven is a national charity that supports women throughout or after their breast cancer treatment. When breast cancer tries to rob a woman of her individuality, confidence or strength, Breast Cancer Haven provides a free tailored package of emotional, physical and practical support that helps her hold on to them.
Di Emmett, centre manager at Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford said: "Thank you so much for the beautiful heart cushions and drain bags you kindly donated to us last week. These items make such a difference to women, bringing them much-needed comfort during and after surgery.
Linda Townsend, chairman of the Ross Quilters said, "Our quilting group very willingly and happily meet for a whole-day session each year to make the hearts, and many of the ladies continue to make some more at home. They are made with love and empathy for those women who need the comfort. I am very impressed with all the therapies, counselling and activities Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford offer the women, which must make such a difference to them as they recover."
The Ross Quilters meet every third Thursday in a month. They currently have 33 members but can receive a capacity of 40, so please do get in touch with Linda if you are interested in joining this lovely group of women.
The group will be holding their first exhibition at The Millennium Hall, Upton Bishop on August 31 and September 1 so please come along and see some of their amazing crafts.
They have kindly invited Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford to attend so if you would like to find out more about the services the centre offers then information will be available. Any money raised at the exhibition will be donated to Breast Cancer Haven, Hereford.
