No-one can strut and stomp their way across a stage while belting out hit after hit as Tina Turner can - except for EleshaPaul Moses.

She brings her hit tribute show What’s Love Got To Do With It? to Carlisle tonight .

It’s part of a tour taking in more than 60 towns and cities across the UK into next year and Elesha says she it that after an anxious start, she is right in the groove.

“At first it was quite stressful. It is a new show and she is such an icon and someone to look upto, you want to get it right and do her justice.

“As I settle in, I’m taking on the role even more and I’m more like Tina.”

Elesha was touring in the tribute show Whitney - Queen Of The Night, when she suggested performing as Tina.

“I always sang Tina songs at dinner dances and other shows and we thought we could do her justice,” she says.

The all-action show features a 10-strong band and includes dance routines, six costume changes and dozens of hit songs, but Elesha still goes to the gym every day.

“If I didn’t, I don’t think I would make it through the show,” she laughs.

“When you sing and dance, it is a real cardio workout.”

The former X Factor and The Voice contestant has also worked with Beyonce’s dad Mathew Knowles when she appeared in a 2006 show called Chancers on Channel 4’s T4, where contestants were flown out to Houston to be mentored.

Knowles is renowned for being tough and difficult and the chatty mum of two is slightly more guarded when she speaks about the show, saying: “I was there for a month, it was quite tough.

“It was cool, but he was a bit fierce.”

Although she didn’t make the finals of the TV talent shows, she’s glad she tried: “If I hadn’t done that, I wouldn’t be where I am now and I’m very happy.”
