A MAN has been arrested and later released on suspicion of blackmail, theft, criminal damage and harassment after a salon was covered in obscene graffiti.
The incident happened at Trimmers Hair Design in Bishop Auckland on Sunday, May 12.
The salon was covered in red paint devastating staff and customers.
Trimmers has been owned by Jean Wombwell for over 40 years.
She said the incident was upsetting and left a black mark on the salon.
Following the incident, the graffiti was cleaned and the salon was opened.
The man has since been released under investigation.
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said enquiries are ongoing.
