THIS year’s Monmouthshire Show on Saturday, July 6 promises to be a great day out with something for everyone. ‘Everyone’ this year definitely includes dogs and their owners visiting the show with the introduction of dog agility.

Dogs have always been welcome visitors to the show, and the Family Dog Show is a hugely popular event.

This year, for the first time, Canine Hoopers will be in the Countryside Ring providing demonstrations of dog agility, as well as offering an invitation for visitors’ dogs to enter the ring and have a go.

Organiser Catherine Manfield says “ Hoopers is a fun and fast sport for dogs. Our agility course is inclusive and accessible to all dogs, and their handlers, even if handlers’ mobility is limited. It allows dogs to have recreation and exercise while protecting their well-being. The low impact obstacles provide a challenge, but the dogs just love it. We want to encourage visitors to the show to bring their dog along and join in. They can join us in the big ring when we demonstrate but we will also be running a ‘have-a-go’ ring all through the day.”
