MADLEY reverberated with the sounds of classic car engines at the weekend, as enthusiasts gathered in aid of a good cause.
More than 40 cars came together at the Glebe Field to take part in the third annual Madley Miglia scenic tour and raise money for the Madley Church Roof Fund.
Sponsored by Brightwells, the event attracted a wide range of entrants, from a compact Austin Seven RN saloon, owned by Dave and Liz Price, to Chris and Debbie Woodall's bright yellow Lotus Esprit.
Ahead of them was a 70 mile scenic tour, taking in a mixture of open roads, country lanes and magnificent views through the Monnow, Dulas, Escley Brook, Wye and Golden Valleys.
Using 'rally-style' roadbooks, the navigators almost unerringly guided their cars through some challenging terrain, including the optional 'adventurous' area around Skenfrith, where the river had burst its banks the previous day.
After lunch at The Castlefields, the crews set off on the return leg of their journey, with the route climbing over Dorstone and Stockley hills to finish in time for tea at The Stables in Madley.
