The owners of The Royal Arms pub in Llangrove who set up an Armed Forces Veterans' Group have signed the Armed Forces Covenant which is a promise to those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families, are treated fairly.
Claire and Peter Nottage moved from London three years ago and it was always their wish to establish a group where current and ex-servicemen and women could meet socially to swap stories and support one another.
The first meeting took place on Saturday, May 18 and the pair said it was well received by the local community with all branches of the Armed Forces represented and all ranks from Private to Brigadier were present.
Jesse Norman, MP for Hereford and South Herefordshire, was at the meeting and said it's a wonderful local initiative.
The group will next meet on Saturday, August 17. For more information email royalarmsllangrove@hotmail.com.
