Whitchurch Floral Society are holding a flower festival at St Dubricius Church, Symonds Yat, Spring Bank Holiday weekend May 24-27.

A Musical Event in Flowers takes its theme from musicals, films, opera and ballet. Arrangements will depict everything from Grease to Puccini's Madame Butterfly.

These talented flower arrangers have many years of experience, having taken part in festivals around the county including Hereford and Gloucester Cathedrals. The venue is the attractive church of St Dubricius on the banks of the River Wye in Symonds Yat. Tucked away down a quiet lane sandwiched between the Butterfly Zoo and Hedge Puzzle, the church is a hive of activity all year round.

Apart from church services it has hosted events as diverse as an indoor falconry display, and fashion shows, as well as regular coffee mornings and community lunches.

The festival should be a riot of colour and sound on what we hope will be a sunny Bank Holiday.

A preview evening will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 7pm - Tickets £5.

The festival is open to the public on: - Friday 24th, Saturday 25th, Monday 27th May - 10.30am to 4.30pm. Sunday 26th, 10.30am to 2.30pm. A Songs of Praise service will be held at 3pm.
