CHESS enthusiasts from around the county came together to raise money for charity last week.
Held at the Beer in Hand in Hereford, the Charity Chess Knight was the brainchild of city centre businesses Thomas Carroll Brokers and Voodoochilli Web Design.
The hosts were joined on the night by other local business owners and chess enthusiasts, all ready enjoy a craft beer whilst pitting their tactical skills against one another in aid of St Michael's Hospice.
And there was nothing to fear for those less familiar with the chequered board, with a masterclass in the intricacies of the game presented by special guest and county chess champion, Lee Davies.
Organisers Thomas Carroll and Voodoochilli thanked the Beer in Hand and other businesses involved for their support on the night, and promise there is plenty more in the pipeline for the summer!
