A FOOTBALL match will be played in memory of a young dad who was killed at a Hereford factory.

Jamie Allen, who was 28, died while working at Hereford Galvanizers last month.

His friends have organised the game to raise money for Sofia, Mr Allen's young daughter.

Mr Allen played as a striker for Hereford City and his former team mates will take to the pitch at Greyhound Rugby Club on Sunday, March 24, against a Brandon Emmett guest eleven.

Mr Allen's partner Sian Richards and his best friend Tobias de Silva will be among those playing in the match that will kick off at 2pm.

Chris Marshall, Hereford City FC chairman, said there will also be plenty of family entertainment including a children's disco in the club house, a Heggies hog roast and a raffle.

The Beefy Boys, Calandras Menswear, the Spread Eagle, McDonalds, The Den, Oasis Hair and Beauty, Faultless Fitness, Dean Jones Photography, the Left Bank, Hereford FC, Worcester Racecourse, Wye Valley Brewery, JMart, Jewsons and Burghill Valley Golf Club are among the businesses to have donated prizes.

Those organising the event are hoping that a company can donate a bouncy castle for the day. Anyone who can provide the inflatable is asked to call Brandon Emmett on 07383520506.
