The art group is back in Bredwardine village hall from March and dates are Fridays 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th.  As usual we meet between 1pm and 4pm to paint, draw and learn about art.  The sessions are ‘drop in’ and cost £5 each week,  which includes the cost of tea and biscuits.  Our members work at their own pace and with the media they prefer, so any week we might have oils, watercolours, pastels and acrylics all being used and this is a great way to be inspired by something new or just take a look.

The club has no administrative or membership fees, you simply pay when you attend, and the money we raise is used to subsidize workshops with professional artists and to pay travel costs for group visits to galleries and museums.  For example, on Tuesday, 26th March thirteen of us are heading to Chapel Cottage Studio in Abergavenny for a day’s tuition in acrylics by the hugely talented, professional artist Jantien Powell.  There are no places left on this workshop as the painting subject and the fine lunch she always provides are very popular.  And later this year a group are travelling to London to see the Leonardo da Vinci drawings exhibited at Buckingham Palace.  Both of these events are supported through our drop-in fees.

Before then we continue to work individually and as a group.  Our Orang-Utan exhibition is on show in Bredwardine village hall and the Beer in Hand exhibition is changing as more pieces are sold.
