LEDBURY Rotary Club entered into a tripartite 2018/19 Presidential Year when Jan Long took on the mantle following in the footsteps of many former presidents who worked tirelessly to promote Rotary ideals, working in the community and helping those in need.
Jan said "The future months will be enjoyable and exciting with collaborative projects and a variety of activities in prospect.
"It was a real pleasure having Rotary president Adrian Brewer from the Isle of Wight as our speaker, who provided an insight into his charity "Roll out the Barrel" - a simple adapted barrel, but wholly effective way for collecting water in countries where villagers, would in the past, walk many miles to visit a well or bore hole.
"Thank you Adrian for this passionate and stimulating account of your wonderful work. I'm honoured that Ledbury members have entrusted me with the presidency and to carry the time honoured tradition of service not self!"
