ONE of Herefordshire's favourite family tourist attractions is to close.

Court Farm, in Tillington, announced today that they will be closing 40 years after the business began.

The pick-your-own farm is popular with children - and adults - who travel many miles to pick the farm's strawberries and cherries.

Many vegetables are also grown while children have enjoyed getting eggs from chicken sheds and meeting pigs on the site a few miles north of Hereford.

In a statement on the farm's Facebook page, Court Farm said: "In 1978 when we first opened for PYO we never would have imagined what a fantastic 40 years we would have in the business.

"It is with a heavy heart that as a family, we have decided to close the shop and PYO area on our farm to pursue new ventures.

"We will still be working hard at the farm and would love to welcome the public back for PYO pumpkins in October.

"We would like to say a huge thank you to the many loyal customers and staff we have had over the years, and are so grateful for the wonderful memories."

Nicki Gilbert, from Court Farm, told the Hereford Times today the decision was not an easy one for her and her husband Tim.
