A SUSPICIOUS incident in a Hereford play park has sparked a police appeal for information

Two men were found to be dismantling a bike in a play park in Hereford at 1am on February 13.

Police suspect that the black and grey Cube Aim SL bike is stolen and are searching for the owner.

The incident follows on from a string of bicycle theft related incidents in the city during the last month.

Police are also searching for the owner of a dark coloured Carrera bike found outside a garage on Marlowe Drive on February 15.

A white Apollo Elyse ladies bike was stolen from Golden Post on February 13, whilst a secured black, blue and white Carrera Vengeance bike was stolen from the front garden of an address on Kingsway between 10pm on February 16 and 8am on February 18.

And a dark grey coloured Cube Trekker bicycle with a blue fabric seat and front and rear lights was stolen from outside a convenience store on Holme Lacy Road whilst the owner was inside on February 15.

A witness reported seeing the bicycle stolen by a 5'2 white female aged around 30 with light brown hair.

Police are warning that bicycles are one of the items most likely to be targeted by thieves.

In recent years there has been an increase in the theft of pedal cycles both locally and nationally.
