Following the phenomenal success of its world premiere tour, Middle Ground Theatre Company present their critically acclaimed courtroom drama The Verdict.

Frank Galvin is a washed up veteran lawyer and an alcoholic. He is presented with one last chance to redeem himself when he is given an open-and-shut medical malpractice case that no one thinks he can win. Up against the unforgiving medical establishment and the all-powerful Catholic Church, he courageously refuses an out of court settlement, believing it is negligence that has condemned a young mother. Smelling a cover up, he instead takes the case and the entire legal system to court.

Originally a novel by Barry Reed, The Verdict was made famous by the 1982 film version, directed by the five times Oscar-nominated Sidney Lumet.

In Middle Ground Theatre Company’s stage version, Ian Kelsey takes the lead role of Frank Galvin. Ian is known by millions for his regular roles in Blue Murder, Emmerdale, Casualty, Down To Earth, Where The Heart Is, Doctors and Coronation Street. He is joined by co-stars Paul Opacic, Richard Walsh, Karen Drury and Christopher Ettridge.

Audiences can upgrade their tickets for £7.95 to enjoy prosecco and sweet canapés during the interval.

The Verdict will be on stage at The Courtyard from Tuesday, February 12 to Saturday, February 16 at 7.30pm, with matinee performances on Thursday, February 14 and Saturday, February 16. To book, call the box office on 01432 340555 or visit
