A HEAVY police presence has been seen close to the River Wye in Hereford following an assault on a teenager this afternoon.
Police have closed off part of Luard Walk at its junction with Lewis Smith Avenue in front of the children's playground in Hunderton.
A police spokeswoman said: "Police were called by the ambulance service to Luard Walk in Hereford shortly after 3.30pm this afternoon.
"An 18-year-old is reported to have been assaulted.
"He suffered injuries to his arm and was taken to hospital for further treatment.
"Enquiries are currently ongoing."
Police officers remain in the area at present.
