EMMA and Ian Mapp put forward the idea of a bench for the remembrance of the fallen men and women from the last century.
The bench will be named Forces Memorial Bench and will be placed near Knighton-on-Teme Church on land donated by a local farmer.
The cost of the bench will be paid for by fundraising events such as quizzes at the Talbot Hotel in Newnham Bridge and donations.
Cllr Chris Dell, MHDC representative for Lindridge Ward which includes Knighton-on-Teme Parish, is delighted to be supporting the project by allocating part of this year’s ward budget to it.
