LIVES could be saved at a March for Men being staged at Hereford Racecourse in support of Prostate Cancer UK.

Apart from raising money and awareness, the event will provide potentially life-saving testing.

A bank of nurses will be available to carry out blood tests for any men turning up who want to check their prostate health.

The march has been arranged by local resident Mike Williams, who emphasises that it is open to men, women and children.

There is a walk of one lap or runs of between 1 and 4 laps (2.25km to 9km) march involves one lap

The walk/run is at 11:00am on March 31.

There is a registration fee of £11.25, of which £10 goes to Prostate Cancer UK via www.eventbrite.co.uk March for Men Hereford. Gate opens from 9:30am.

The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust nurses will be available from10am to 1pm to enable testing of PSA levels which is an indicator of prostate health.

It is not necessary to take part in the walk/run to have a PSA test.

The cost of each test is £18.75. A minimum gift aided donation of £15.00 covers this cost.

The event will also be attended by Yeleni Therapy and Support, a Hereford-based charitable group who are able to offer advice and support for anyone living with cancer.
