The Saturday Café, the popular series of informal lunchtime music gigs at the Courtyard, will soon be back after its winter break.
The new line-up kicks off on Saturday, February 2, with the Tragic Magic Blues Band playing a wide range from from the jazz-blues style of Ray Charles and Cab Calloway, to the Delta Blues of Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker, plus a few surprises. They feature Terry Page on guitar, Kelvin Skyrme on drums, and Matt Warren on bass.
Saturday, February 9 brings an appearance from some superb jazz players, the Lee Jones Trio. Lee on guitar is joined by Tom Hill (double bass) and Nick Millward on drums.
The Saturday Café is promoted by the Music Pool in partnership with The Courtyard. All sessions run from 12 noon to 2pm in the Courtyard Cafe Bar, and admission is free.
