A FORMER Hereford United coach, who died earlier this year from a brain tumour, will be the focus of a fundraising dinner in Ross-on-Wye in January.
Maggie Bate, who lives in the town, has been organising the event in memory of her husband, Dick, who was the Bulls' coach under John Layton and Graham Turner before leaving to work with the England Youth team.
The event, at the Chase Hotel, will raise funds for the Giles Trust, a fund at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham that supports patients with brain tumours.
"The event is coming together really well and it should be a lovely evening with an element of fun, a night I think Dick would have approved of,” said Maggie.
The night will feature a sporting auction which includes signed football shirts from each premier league club as well as an England 2018 World Cup signed shirt.
The event is on Saturday, January 26 and tickets at £50 are available from Maggie on 01989 564339.
