LADS Club manager Danny Moon said that his side was 'immense' as they beat county rivals Wellington 2-1 after going down to 10 men.

However, Moon was left disappointed with referee Daniel Stokes' decision to give Tom Dawson a red card following a second bookable offence.

"I thought we deserved to win despite a dubious red card and I thought they should have had one but there was only one winner.

"They huffed and puffed Wellington but I think we controlled the game.

"We could have scored four of five in the second half with better first touches and being a bit more clinical, we deserved to win and there was no question about that to be honest.

"We've been searching to grind a result out all season and we haven't been doing it but today we have been superb all of them.

"I was disappointed that we conceded but with 10 men it was going to come eventually.

I thought our lads were immense and stuck to what I asked them to stick to.

"If we came away 2-0 it wouldn't have been a travesty as it took them 35 minutes to have a shot at our goal."

Dawson scored the opening goal for the visitors after pouncing on a loose ball with just four minutes played.

James Hancocks doubled their lead on the 27th minute with a sweetly hit strike.

However, in a tight second half several late tackles led to referee Stokes handing out a host of yellow card.

Eventually goal scorer Dawson was given a second yellow with 12 minutes remaining.

This gave Welly fresh impetus and with five minutes remaining Joe Davies bundled the ball home through a crowd of players.

Moon felt the red card for Dawson was a 'disappointing' decision.

He added: "It was totally harsh and I've just chatted to the referee about it.

"He was trying to make out their tackle wasn't meant but he was quite happy to brandish it.

"I think their dugout was quite happy to get our player sent off. It's disappointing really when people are doing that. We have a player out now for two weeks."

The win moves Lads Club up to seventh with three home games remaining this month.

"We'll try and pick some points up but it depends what we get with the weather how many games we get in over the December period," added Moon.

"If we put everything together there is no reason we can't be top five."
