Hereford Choral Society will be joined by students from Hereford Sixth Form College for this year’s performance of Handel’s Messiah, conducted by Geraint Bowen, which takes place by candlelight in Hereford Cathedral at 7.30 pm on Saturday, December 8. Many of the students will be singing Handel’s great masterpiece, one of the cornerstones of the choral repertoire, for the very first time.

"We are delighted for the third year running to be welcoming students from Hereford Sixth Form College for our performance of Messiah," said Geraint. "It’s wonderful to be introducing a new generation of singers to this great work. The sound of the choir with these young voices joining our more experienced singers is quite thrilling and our audience is in for a treat on 8 December!"

The performance features Marches Baroque orchestra and soloists Lorenza Paz Nieto (soprano), Jess Dandy (mezzo-soprano), Ruairi Bowen (tenor) and Malachy Frame (baritone).

The concert is generously sponsored by The Clive and Sylvia Richards Charity.
