Three years after first trying to book him, Bockleton Parish Hall welcomes some musical festive cheer from Geordieland with BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2015 double-nominee Jez Lowe and his terrific band.

A real winter-warmer of a folk/music-hall revue, packed with great comic songs new and old, rousing regional tunes, excellent musicianship, jovial banter and cheerful good humour. Warm-hearted, easy-going and nostalgic, this is an outstanding tribute to Christmas in the northeast of England.

Jez Lowe and The Bad Pennies have been playing their songs and music of Northern England for a decade and a half around the folk festivals, clubs and concert stages of the world, coupling acoustic simplicity with electric vitality. Strong vocals, backed by an outstanding instrumental line-up of guitar, cittern, fiddle, fretless bass, keyboards and Northumbrian Pipes, have made them one of Britain's top attractions on the folk/acoustic/Celtic circuit.

ez Lowe's Thor'd Out comes to Bockleton Parish Hall on Sunday, December 9 at 7pm. To book, call Wendy on 01568 750414 or Carol on 01568 750463.
