LEOMINSTER Meeting Centre for people affected by dementia was fortunate and grateful to receive £6,579 for its Dementia Friendly Leominster project from the Co-op Members Community Fund.

This is about raising awareness of dementia in the community and helping to reduce stigma which can lead to early diagnosis and people can get the support they need.

The Co-op gives 1% of what members spend on Co-op branded food products in their stores and selected services, as well as money raised from sales of carrier bags and Co-op scratch cards in their stores, to local project.

Shirley Evans, Cheryl Poole and Janette Pudsey represented Leominster Meeting Centre and Dementia Friendly Leominster and thanked customers who came into the store on November 24.

Cakes were provided by the Co-op and handed out with balloons for the younger customers.
