HEREFORDSHIRE residents added their voice to a protest about climate change in the capital.
Eleven concerned citizens travelled to London on Saturday to join thousands of protestors from around the country.
The planned non-violent road-block demonstration across five of London’s bridges was organised by the relatively young national action group Extinction Rebellion, which describes itself as a “decentralised mass movement belonging to everyone who cares about our future.”
Supporters campaign on a range of ecological and environmental issues including fracking, the use of fossil fuels and air pollution.
The county climate campaigners joined the crowds on Westminster Bridge, distributing leaflets and spreading Extinction Rebellion’s message to call on the Government to act on climate change before joining a rally in Parliament Square.
Peterchurch campaigner David Gillam said: “We believe it’s time for all responsible citizens to act now to reduce the burden of man-made climate catastrophe on people alive today, our children, grandchildren and all future generations.
“If not now, when? If not me and you, who?
“We are not putting up with the feeble response from the Government any longer.”
