A MAN was released by firefighters from a car which had fallen down an embankment.

Emergency services were called on Friday at 6.18pm to the A4103 at the junction of Tan House Lane in Cradley.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a crew from the Midlands Air Ambulance Service travelling by car attended.

There were two cars involved in the crash and a Nissan Micra ended up in a ditch.

A female driver managed to get out and was taken to Hereford County Hospital.

A male passenger sustained potentially serious injuries.

Ambulance staff worked with firefighters to release him from the car. He was taken to the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

The Hereford to Worcester road was closed until around midnight.
