THE team behind a community garden for adults with learning difficulties is in the running to receive funding from a national pot.

Eaton Barn Community Garden, based near Leominster, have applied for £5,000 from the Aviva Community Fund to help fund their work and they are now encouraging people to get behind the bid and vote for them before voting closes on November 20.

Organisers plan to build an an outdoor sensory garden and BBQ area with a pizza oven if they win the funding.

The garden helps around 200 people a month to benefit from the outdoors, learn horticulture skills and meet new people.

The project was recently hit by burglars who stole gardening equipment that had been donated especially for the garden's users.

Voting closes on November 20.
