THE Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society (LADS) is celebrating its 80th birthday this year (1938-2018).

To mark the occasion a book has been produced telling the remarkable story of its journey from performing in a Second World War Nissan Hut to building and running the purpose built Market Theatre of today.

Included within the volume are the trials and tribulations of leasing premises from the Church Army, how the legendary pantomimes began and how the society might have folded after a disastrous fire.

The book also includes a complete list of every known LADS production well over 250 of them.

The book has been researched and written by LADS member Brian Hudson and copies are available priced at £12.50.

Order forms are available from the theatre or contact brianh@themarkettheatre.com
