A BODY recovered from the river Severn in Worcester yesterday is believed to be that of Steven Downing.
Mr Downing, 58 of Kidderminster, went missing on Sunday evening (October 28) after leaving Worcester Shrub Hill station at around 8.15pm
Police recovered the body from the river near Quay Street yesterday (Wednesday, October 31) at around 3pm.
Superintendent Damian Pettit said: "Sadly, the body of a man was recovered from the river Severn yesterday. It is believed that it is Steven Downing, who went missing on Sunday evening in Worcester.
"His death is currently being treated as unexplained/ The investigation is on-going.
"Next-of-kin have been informed and formal identification will take place in due course, dedicated officers are supporting next-of-kin in this difficult time."
