A CREW from Bromyard helped rescue a cow called Mary from a stream.
The cow had become stuck in a ditch in Kempsey over the border in Worcestershire.
A crew from Bromyard and a crew from Worcester attended the scene yesterday at 2.15pm.
A spokesperson from Bromyard Fire Station said: "She was very very calm and well behaved which helps us to prepare the scene to make sure the lift goes smoothly without any glitches.
"We managed to extricate her from the stream and into the cattle trailer without any problems."
When the crew returned to the station they de-contaminated all equipment used.
The fire station in Bromyard is currently recruiting firefighters. Visit hwfire.org.uk for more information.
