A CREATIVE eight-year-old from Bromyard saw his way to success after winning a charity competition to design a pair of glasses.

Shea Geoghegan from St Peter’s Primary School fought off tough competition to clinch one of five prizes up for grabs in the national competition organised by Scrivens Opticians and Hearing Care.

Youngsters were encouraged to submit their imaginative designs with all proceeds from the £1 entry fee going to Alzheimer’s Society.

Hannah New, branch manager at Scrivens on Broad Street, said: “Alzheimer’s Society is our chosen charity and this was a fun way to engage children and raise awareness of its work. Shea did a great job with his design and is a worthy winner.”

Shea’s prize was a children’s art kit from Artline and a fun model of his design.

Mum Shelley said: “Shea has a yearly eye test at the branch. He saw the competition form when he came in and decided to have a go. He was delighted to win. He enjoys art and will love this prize.”
