ON October 7 Lynhales Nursing Home in Lyonshall, Kington held their annual Memory Walk in aid of the Alzheimer's Society.

Over 90 people including staff, residents, family and friends took part.

They were joined by members of the local Kington Scouts association programme encouraging young people to make a difference to the wider community.

Through sponsorship and a raffle , the total amount raised so far this year stands at over £600 with sponsorship still coming in.

This was the 11th year that Lynhales Hall, part of the Rotherwood Healthcare Group, have organised a memory walk and it continues to be highlight of the social calendar.

Since it began, they have raised over £10000 for the charity.

Sheila Lavell, who is one of Lynhales well loved residents had the honour of starting the walk.

Nick Brown Lynhales Hall's hospitality manager said, "This is my first memory walk I have been involved in and it was so positive to see residents, family and friends all enjoying this important event. It helps raise awareness and helps residents look forward to an involvement and social occasion. I look forward to many more".
