A HISTORIC Pudleston church has been awarded a grant worth £2,500 for the restoration of its stained glass windows.
St Peter's Church in Pudleston-cum-Whyle has been offered the money by the National Churches Trust so that the windows can be enjoyed by future generations.
The money will be spent on the restoration, repair, refurbishment, redecoration and conservation cleaning of its stained glass windows.
The eight windows depict the the Apostles and Angels and work will see repairs completed on the stonework around the window.
The work will cost £16,000 and supporters of the church have been fundraising throughout the summer to raise money for the repairs, with highlights including a Agatha Christie themed Flower Festival which was opened by the writer's grandson, Mathew Prichard.
Work on the windows has started and it is hoped it will be completed by the end of the year.
