A HAUNTED house, a zombie crawl and a riddle trail are just some of the activities planned in Hereford city centre this Halloween.

The events have been organised for October 27 by Hereford City Life, a part of the Hereford BID.

Mike Truelove, manager at HBID, said: “Almost all of our events are free this Halloween, with the exception of the Haunted House, which has a small charge.

"So much effort has gone into this event with a special effects company being brought in as well as professional performers."

The Haunted Black and White House is suitable for children over seven or more with parental discretion and the house opens for visitors from 11am until 4.30pm.

Next to the house will be the haunted graveyard sponsored by Left Bank Village. At 2.30pm children and adults in fancy-dress are invited to participate in a Zombie Crawl – a walk around the town lasting for about 40 minutes with prizes at the end.

There is also Hereford’s second annual creepy pumpkin competition (for all ages) that will be judged by the Mayor of Hereford at around 3.30pm. There will also be a fun Halloween Riddle Trail around the town with goody bags for everyone taking part.

All can be obtained from the City Life Tent in High Town on October 27.

Herefordshire Council and LIKE Radio has also sponsored the event.
