A WOMAN was airlifted to hospital after falling while walking on a hill in the southwest of the county.

The ambulance service was called just after 3.30pm yesterday to a woman who had fallen while walking on a hill in Longtown.

One ambulance and a Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended.

An ambulance spokeswoman said: "It was a particularly difficult location given she was on a hill pretty much in the middle of nowhere. She suffered a suspected fractured arm.

"The woman in her 50s was given pain relief and her arm was immobilised. She was airlifted to Hereford County Hospital."
