A ROSS-on-Wye school has been praised for exceeding the government's benchmark target.
A Herefordshire Council boss wrote to the headmaster of John Kyrle High School to praise the school for exceeding the FFT 20 target in English and maths combined at grade 5 and above.
The FFT 20 places the pupils' progress in the top 20 per cent of the country in those subjects at GCSEs.
Lisa Fraser, assistant director of Education, Development and Skills at Herefordshire Council, said the school is clearly making a difference to the life chances of young people.
