CLINICAL Ledbury were derby day victors as they overcame the physically dominant Upton to take a 39-29 away victory.
Against the run of play Ledbury’s Ryan Fourie finished a 40-metre run with a deft dummy to score under the posts for the opening try.
Upton’s heavier pack were unlucky to have a score disallowed but Harry Stokes was able to finish a try, which was unconverted.
Upton continued to press the Ledbury defence, only to see a stray pass latched onto by Matt Hallett, who ran the length of the pitch to score to give them a 17-5 half-time lead.
Once again Ledbury struck first after the break when Hallett made a break and found scrum half Cam Hunter.
Stokes scored again for Upton, but in response Hunter scampered over for a well taken try after a great chip and chase kick.
Upton crossed the whitewash again through centre George Ainge but Ledbury finally seemed to put the match out of reach when Hallett put kicker George Bennion over in the corner.
