YOU might have visited the Butter Market in Hereford on one of their Pop Up Saturdays or Big Days in recent months.

The aim of these events was always to attract new customers through the door and to give businesses from the county the chance to dip their toe in the water with a high street presence.

A spokeswoman for the Butter Market said: “We have had great success with the days. Along with the extra footfall, we have attracted several new full time, permanent traders - two of whom started as a Saturday Pop Up.

“We have welcomed Thaitastic Thai and given them a permanent home. They make delicious authentic Thai food to either eat in at the new communal table space or take home and warm through for supper.

“In a couple of weeks Alice’s Home Bakes will start producing tasty cupcakes and cheesecakes right here in the Butter Market. You might have noticed their new space under construction by the High Town entrance.

“Alice started her business just a couple of months ago out of a passion for baking and we know her cakes are already in great demand.”

They are also talking with Gwatkins about a full time cider shop and have the award-winning Peter Cooks Bread at the market every Saturday.

They are in talks with other companies looking to either move to the Butter Market or start their high street journey without a ‘bricks and mortar’ lease. There are spaces available for either regular pop ups or permanent traders. The Butter Market is the main sponsor for the Food and Drink Awards 2018.
