WHETHER you choose to ride a bike, a horse, even Shanks’ pony, the challenge is on to join the famed Huntington Chase near Kington.
Now in its 10th year, this eagerly contested opportunity to see whether hooves, wheels or feet can cover the ground most successfully, will bring competitors from all over the area to attempt the 11 kilometre course in aid of charity.
On Saturday September 29, participants will gather at Huntington village hall in order to enrol for a breezy ride, trot or stroll over Hergest Ridge, down into Gladestry and back to the Swan, Huntington’s village pub, for a rewarding drink and sandwich.
The emphasis will be on raising funds for St Michael’s Hospice, and those taking part can opt for horsepower or bicycle, and they can choose to run the distance or walk. Fancy dress is also welcome.
There will be prizes and a raffle, and the entrance fee is £10 (under 16s free). Walkers need to enrol by 10.30am, all others by 11.30am.
