Ross on Wye Cider and Perry Company, based at the Yew Tree Peterstow, has raised an incredible £15,000 for Hope Support Services over the last five years.

From offering the venue for free to host events like wine tasting and gig nights to holding sweepstakes and Christmas carol evenings, the team has been dedicated to helping support the local charity.

The annual pop-up opera, cider competition and of course the ever popular cider festival have raised around £10,000, whilst Yew Tree customers have generously donated over £600 in the Hope collection tins.

“We cannot believe the fundraising total has made it to £15,000”, said Hope’s Lorna Russell. “The team at Ross Cider and Perry Company and the Yew Tree support us so much, but even we were surprised when we added up everything they’ve done for us over the last few years!”

Hope Support Services, which helps young people when a loved one is seriously ill and offers youth sessions and one-to-one support across the county, has to source all of its own funding through grants, fundraising and donations.

“It's our great pleasure to have raised over the years such a large amount of money for Hope”, said Albert Johnson. “Partnering with a worthwhile, impactful local charity is our privilege and we're proud of what our business, our customers, and our fellow cidermakers have achieved together to support them. We've been hosting Hope at our events for several years now, and we look forward to many more years to come.”

“This is such a huge amount of money for people to raise for us,” added Lorna. “It’s been an incredibly busy year, especially now we have started delivering the young people’s service in St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford – it’s fundraising like this that enables us to keep doing what we do, and keep supporting these young people who are going through such an awful time.”

Hope will once again be on hand at the Cider Festival, held at Broome Farm from August 31 to September 2 with the infamous tombola and face glitter. Tickets are available from www.rosscider.com.
