A young Herefordshire entrepreneur is driving to Mongolia in aid of Walking with the Wounded, Dementia UK and Cool Earth. Miles Pattison-Appleton, 24, from Sutton Lakes formed Team CarDashians with three friends. Taking part in the Mongol Rally, they set off from Hereford last month, and are currently on the stunning Pamir Highway in Kyrgyzstan, about two-thirds of the way to Mongolia. Driving 10,000 miles in a 1litre car (rally rules!) across the mountains, deserts and steppes of Europe and Asia with no backup, no support and no set route is quite a challenge. Fortunately, major sponsor Vertu Volkswagen were incredibly generous and put Dora their plucky Polo through the workshop to give her a fighting chance of making it. Hereford Tyres also equipped her with new tyres so she has some grip on the harsh roads out there. The CarDashians are enormously grateful for the help of these local businesses. The team is due to reach Mongolia by the end of this month.

With 93% of their donation target achieved, they could do with some help to reach or surpass it. If you would like to donate to these three extremely worth causes, please go to virginmoneygiving.com and search for Miles Pattison-Appleton.
