A SUPPORT worker has opened up about her family's struggles with mental health.

Tina Lee, 27 said: "I have found the mental health care sector to be not very good. As a family we have been battling the health care sector for the last 12 to 18 months with a family member who is suffering. You go through a stage where you see someone discharged from hospital then very little follow ups are made."

The support worker from Bretforton said: "You get told from mental health professionals that steps are in place but then nothing happens and you hear from no one. They are quick to give medication as it is an easy fix but the medication doesn't even work and still you are kept on it.

Miss Lee is organising an Olly Murs tribute night at Bretforton community social club on Saturday, September 1 at 7pm. Tickets are £10 and include a buffet. All proceeds will go to Mind, the mental health charity.

Miss Lee said: "I want people to come to my event and know that no matter how big or little their problem is, that it's OK to talk."
