ON-CALL firefighters will climb an eight-metre ladder more than 1,000 times while wearing full firefighting uniform.
The 11 firefighters from Kington Fire Station will be taking on the Everest Ladder challenge at this year's Kington Vintage Show this weekend.
They aim to climb the fire service ladder 1,106 times wearing full Personal Protective Equipment - this is the equivalent of climbing to the summit of Mount Everest.
The fire crew will take on the challenge on Saturday and Sunday at the Recreation Ground in Kington.
They are raising money for St Michael's Hospice, The Firefighters Charity and The Midlands Air Ambulance.
