BROCKHAMPTON 3rds were the only winners in the GB Liners Marches Division One as they pulled away from a relegation battle on a rain affected day.

Dales had the chance to jump above their opponents in a crunch meeting at the bottom.

After being put into bat openers Michael Batson (43) and Nick Palmer (75) put on a big first wicket stand for Dales before wickets started to tumble.

They were eventually bowled out for 194 thanks to the consistent bowling of Aiden Webb taking five wickets for 41 runs.

In reply the Brockhampton openers of Robin Holgate 30 and Sam Charles 37 set them towards the target before Rhys Price came in with an unbeaten 67 to give his side victory by four wickets.

Title chasers Goodrich lost their race against the rain clouds as they tried to claw back vital points to the leaders against Cleobury Mortimer.

Their hopes of bowling Cleobury out quickly were dented by opener Sam Evans who put on 65, but his side were bowled out for 191.

In response an unbeaten 43 by captain Sam Griffiths saw Goodrich reach 106-2 off 17.5 overs before the rain interrupted play.

James Platford was once again on form for table toppers Luctonians as he hit 152 while Matt Bengry struck 65 before the rain interrupted their innings on 282-4.

Strollers narrowed the gap at the top of Division Two to just two points after taking a quick victory over Ledbury.

Knowing that the rain was coming bowlers George Wood-Cole 4-24 and Daniel Powell 6-17 bowled their hosts out for 69 off 24.4 overs.

An unbeaten half century from opener Alex Carter helped Strollers to victory from 10.5 overs.

Canon Frome missed an opportunity to also narrow the gap on leaders Glangrwyney CC after seeing their match abandoned while 54 runs short of their target.

The hosts did get five bowling points for skittling out their visitors for 118-9 but were left short of time as the rain stopped play on 54-2.
