FOR one night only, Pershore Past and Present will make a comeback.

It was originally a colour slide show put together by Ernest, Ralph, Kenny and Ian Fuller in the early 1960’s as a fund raiser for The Avon Valley Swimming Pool Association which was raising money to build a pool in the town after the death of a local boy in the River Avon.

The slide show was shown in Pershore and the surrounding villages for many years and proved a major fund raiser for this much needed town facility.

Ernest, Ralph and Kenny have since died but before his death, Ernest with the help of his eldest son Kevin, converted the show into digital format. The show has not been seen by the general public for over 30 years until now.

The event is now being staged as a fundraiser for the Pershore Plum Festival and guest for the evening will be festival ambassador, Henry Sandon MBE – who is celebrating his 90th birthday.

To mark this “one night only” occasion, Matt Pollard, executive head chef at Worcester Race Course has baked a plum cak, and everyone attending will be given a slice of birthday cake along with other refreshments provided by Abbey Butchers.

Tickets can be purchased from Blue in Broad Street or Pershore Town Hall and are priced at only £7.

Only 100 tickets will be available so don't miss out.
