AN UNCLE and nephew team will take to the streets of the county on retro bikes in aid of St Michael's Hospice.
Michael Bale, 56, and his nephew Thomas Beattie, 29, will ride a restored Raleigh Chopper from 1977 and a 1985 BMX respectively as part of the 'Wheelie Big Bike Cycle'.
In a fun twist, the Chopper will be finished off with a basket carrying inter-galactic hero ET, in a homage to the classic 1980's film.
Michael is no stranger to cycling as he used to compete for British Cycling and completed his final race last year in New York.
Thomas has only raced once in ten years, but was inspired to take to his bike to raise money for St Michael's Hospice after working their as a plasterer and seeing their important work.
Michael said: "Thomas' bike is a single speed with no gears, so he is hoping for not too many hills. And of course ET from the planet “Brodo Asogi.”
The 'Wheelie Big Bike Cycle' takes place on Sunday, July 15.
